You can easily trigger avalanches on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

Persistent weak layer (slab avalanches)

You can trigger avalanches on a few steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury a car or destroy a small house (size 3).

Søndag ble snøoverflaten regnpåvirket høyt til fjells, men det er ventet gradvis synkende snøgrense mandag og tirsdag.

Det finnes et godt utviklet kantkornlag dypere i snødekket rundt skarelag, men dette er vanskelig å påvirke.

7 mm precipitation, up to 12 mm in the most exposed areas. Rain up to 600 m a.s.l during the afternoon. Fresh breeze from northeast. -6 °C to 0 °C at 1400 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Tuesday 25. April 2023

2-4 mm precipitation. Rain up to 500 m a.s.l during the afternoon. Fresh breeze from north. -7 °C to -2 °C at 1400 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Avalanche risk assessment

Det ventes avtagende nedbør, men vinden kan likevel flytte noe snø inn i sørlige heng. Her kan det dannes ferske nysnøflak som kan være lett å løse ut. Flakene vil stabilisere seg ganske raskt pga gunstig temperatur, men vær forsiktig så lenge de er ferske.

I nordsider høyt til fjells kan det finnes svakt lag av kantkorn langt nede i snøpakka, men det skal svært mye til for å påvirke laget nå som det blir kaldere.
